The fiction writing competition is reserved for visitors who came to the Castle of Agliè during the period from October 2005 – March 2006.
The aim of the competition is to award unpublished stories set within the castle or with the castle as their main protagonist and that are no more than five pages in length.
All of the stories must be sent in with the entry ticket to the Castle, as proof of an actual visit.
Competition participants will be judged by a jury made up of representatives from the Regional Management for Cultural and Landscape Heritage, the Superintendency for Architectural and Landscape Heritage, the Regional authorities, the Municipality of Agliè, the Film Commission, ATL Canavese and the journalists Marina Paglieri (Repubblica) e Maurizio Lupo (La Stampa).
The commission will publish the names of the winners during the course of a Press Conference organised at Palazzo Chiablese – the headquarters of the Management and the Superintendency – scheduled to take place on Thursday 11th May. The commission will assign the first three prizes and seven mentions for the stories judged, based on their unappealable decision, to be the most interesting.
The winning texts will be read in public on Saturday the 13th of May at the Castle of Agliè.
Following this, every Sunday afternoon, the stories will be recited in the Castle, under the monumental Great Stairway of honour made famous by the TV drama series Elisa di Rivombrosa.
