Santa Maria and San Pietro
ANCIENT PLACES OF WORSHIP WHICH NOW HOUSE FIELDS AND VINEYARDS

Old map by Giacomo Schiera dating back to 1754 from which we can see the position and consistency of the previous Romanic church of S. Maria

This church, which was once located within the so-called "Church Region", to the west of Macugnano, has now disappeared.

The Church of San Pietro most likely rose up in an elevated position on the hill, on a site that still has the name "Region of St. Peter" today, just a short distance from the Shrine of Our Lady of Graces.

At Campagnolo cadastre, just slightly further north of the Shrine built by Michela and indicated on the cadastral map at parcel 502, now a vineyard, the building of a tower is indicated. This is perhaps the only element that outlived the church, as in the analogous case of the bell tower of San Martino in Bollengo which still exists.
